A-hole.

Today I was in the elevator with a ridiculously creepy looking character. You know when you turn on a suspense flick and you know right from the hot second you see the guy, you KNOW he IS the killer, and you watch the rest of the movie just to confirm it? Yeah, one of THOSE guys.

And this was not any elevator ride. It’s the kind where there is 10 different people on the elevator and you so you have to joy ride with 10 strangers and look awkwardly at each other when you hit a new floor thinking “who’s turn is to go?” Yep.

I was going to the 15th floor. Creepy man was going to the 17th. As the last person got off at the 13th floor, I felt like I was going to pee my pants. I was sure I was looking at my demise.

Yeah and I was intensely mean mugging this man. Really, I was just trying to remember what hair color he had and if he had any marks that stood out on his body and what size his shoes were just in case there was a shoe print left. I needed to know details just in case something happened and I had to find this guy in a line up!

So bam, 13th floor man walks out of the elevator. I look down at my feet, starting to repent for my sinner lifestyle because I truly think this guy is about to kill me. Nope, he answers his phone and says, ‘yeah I’m on the elevator about to walk into the place. I’m so nervous about this interview.’

Yeah, I hope that I instilled great confidence in you right before you big interview by checking you up and down thinking you’re a rapist/stalker/killer/molester/creep. I feel like a royal ass.

It’s ok, karma knocked me on my ass (almost literally.) Who wears flat shoes on blizzard day, me! Who slid in the elevator not once, twice, but three times! Me! I’ll never judge a book by it’s creepy cover again.

But, there was a good part of this asshole day. Me and my co-worker/friend/jess was looking out the window to see the damage of this (normal and not that big of a deal) blizzard, and on the sidewalk, on Second Street, were two little snow angels made perfectly! SEE, it’s the little things that make you smile.
